Capt. Paul Drouin is principal of SafeShip. Eleven years as a senior marine safety investigator with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada has given Paul extensive experience in marine investigations and a keen insight into organizational and management factors that contribute to accidents.
Paul has attended IMO, has published work on brittle fracture in ship side shells as well as various articles for Seaways magazine.
Paul is a contributing author and Academic Course Director for the Lloyd’s Maritime Academy distance learning Diploma in Marine Accident Investigation.
Since 2013, Paul was been acting editor for the Nautical Institute’s monthly MARS supplement.
Captain Drouin is a graduate of the Canadian Coast Guard College (1981), a Master Mariner and a Fellow of the Nautical Institute.
He is still sailing as Master on a part-time basis.
